• The French Thrombosis Investigation and Clinical Research Group (GIRC Thrombose-France) is a network of healthcare professionals sponsored by CeNGEPS (Centre National de Gestion des Essais de Produits de Santé, the National Centre for the Management of Trials on Health Prodcuts) and by INSERM, the French National Institute of Health and Medical Research.
    More than fifty physicians are involved in the organisation. They work in university hospitals (Centres Hospitaliers Universitaires, CHU), hospitals (Centres Hospitaliers, CH), clinical investigation centres (Centres d'Investigation Clinique, CIC), for INSERM, or as private practitioners of Vascular Medicine.
    All members have extensive experience in preventing and treating venous thromboembolic disease (VTED.)

  • GIRC collaborates closely with scientific societies such as:

    • The French Vascular Medicine Society (Société Française de Médecine Vasculaire, SFMV)
    • The Study Group on Haemostasis and Thrombosis (Groupe d'études sur l'Hémostase et la Thrombose, GEHT)
    • The National Institute of Health and Medical Research (Institut National de la Santé et de la Recherche Médicale, INSERM)
    • The French Ministry of Health
    • The French Pharmaceutical Companies Association (LEEM)

This clinical research network has been in existence for several years and its members have participated  in many national and international clinical trials.
